The 9th annual Donut Strike for Manna, presented by Hanto + Clarke General Contractors and PenAir Credit Union, was a success, raising the equivalent of 47,895 healthy meals for hungry neighbors in need. Nine agencies across Escambia and Santa Rosa counties collected food and funds while experiencing donut deprivation. This year’s event brings local firefighters and law enforcement heroes’ total contributions since 2017 to more than 297,700 healthy meals for children and families in need.
Raising the most food and funds, this year’s top donor was Escambia County Fire Rescue. The agency contributed the equivalent of 7,497 healthy meals.
Participating agencies included the Escambia County Fire Rescue, Escambia County Sheriff’s Office, Gulf Breeze Fire Rescue, Gulf Breeze Police Department, Midway Fire District, Pace Fire Rescue District, Pensacola Fire Department, Pensacola Police Department, and Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office.
Generous event supporters also include Local Pulse Pensacola, Red Iron Design House, and all participating grocer locations, including Apple Market, Piggly Wiggly, several Publix locations, Sam’s Club, several Walmart locations, and two Winn-Dixie locations.
First responders went on strike against the disc-shaped delicacies from Wednesday, June 24, through Friday, June 26, to inspire donations of food and funds to fight local hunger by supporting Manna. Once they had surpassed their goal, they indulged at the 2026 Donut Strike for Manna Wrap Party on June 30 at J’s Bakery and Café — the event’s official donut sponsor.
