Fill the Mayflower food drive for Manna slated for November 23rd and 24th

Pensacola, FL (November 4, 2020) – It’s time to Fill the Mayflower! Coastal Moving & Storage, Cat Country 98.7, NewsRadio 92.3, WEAR Ch. 3 News and Manna invite the community to help Fill the Mayflower truck the week of Thanksgiving with healthy food for families and children in need. Fill the Mayflower will be held Monday, Nov. 23 from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Tuesday, Nov. 24 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Cordova Mall on the 9th Avenue side across from Sacred Heart Hospital.

 

Donating is easy, and supporters can remain safely in their vehicles! Volunteers will offload food donations from vehicles at the Mayflower truck. Monetary gifts – cash, credit cards and checks – are also appreciated. Media partners Cat Country 98.7, NewsRadio 92.3 and WEAR Ch. 3 News will be onsite to help collect food and tell the story of Manna and its impact on the community. Fill the Mayflower is now in its’ 12th year thanks to the generosity of Coastal Moving & Storage.

 

Fill the Mayflower is Manna’s largest multi-day food drive of the year and plays a critical role in meeting the needs of the hungry in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties. Food collected at Fill the Mayflower will help Manna provide nutritious food to the hungry in the coming months. Manna’s most-needed food items are chicken and tuna (canned and pouches), oatmeal (boxes of single-serve packets), canned mixed vegetables, microwaveable dinners (e.g. Hormel Compleats), canned fruit in 100% juice, peanut butter (1 lb. jars and individual cups) and canned beans. A donation of $25.00 will provide food for five days to a child in need, and $50.00 will provide 30 healthy meals.
