Local law enforcement and fire departments run to the rescue and team up to fight hunger during the Donut Strike for Manna. These brave men and women go on strike against the disc-shaped delicacies for three days each June to encourage the community to fight local hunger by supporting Manna. They don’t give in until truckloads of nutritious food are donated to the cause.
Past participating agencies include the Escambia County Fire Rescue, Escambia County Sheriff's Office, Gulf Breeze Fire and Rescue, Gulf Breeze Police Department, Midway Fire District, Pace Fire Rescue District, Pensacola Fire Department, Pensacola Police Department, and Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office!
Each day of the Donut Strike, first responders are stationed at grocery stores across Escambia and Santa Rosa counties to collect food and monetary donations. Locations will be announced here the week of the Donut Strike. Food donations and financial gifts may also be dropped off at Manna, any day during the week of the Strike.
