Get Ready to Fill the Mayflower with Manna November 22 and 23!

Pensacola, FL (November 2, 2021) –Thanksgiving is around the corner, and that means it’s time to Fill the Mayflower truck for Manna Food Bank with healthy food for children, families, senior citizens, and individuals in need right here in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties. Coastal Moving & Storage, Cat Country 98.7, NewsRadio 92.3, WEAR ABC 3 News, and Manna invite the public to donate nonperishable food items to Fill the Mayflower, Monday, November 22, from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Tuesday, November 23, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., on the 9th Avenue side of Cordova Mall, between Red Lobster and Chili's, across from Sacred Heart Hospital.

Manna Night at the Fair is October 25

In partnership with the Pensacola Interstate Fair, Manna is pleased to announce Manna’s Night at the Fair Food Drive. When fair-goers donate at least three cans of nonperishable food to Manna representatives on-site on Monday, they will receive a discount coupon. The discount coupon can be used at the Pensacola Interstate Fair ticket booth for $2 off regular price adult admission on October 25.

Manna and AIA Florida Northwest announce the 2021 PensaCan Award Winners

Last week, the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Florida Northwest partnered with Manna again for this year’s PensaCan: Demolish Hunger, Design Hope. PensaCan is a competition where architectural firms and community amateurs create impressive structures made entirely out of full cans of food. Following a week-long display of the structures at Cordova Mall, all food structures were donated to Manna for distribution to the hungry of Escambia and Santa Rosa counties.

Publix Charities awards $15,000 grant to Manna Food Bank

Pensacola, FL (September 17, 2021) – Publix Super Markets Charities recently awarded a $15,000 grant to Manna Food Bank in support of its programs and partnerships in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties. The grant will fund the equivalent of 9,000 healthy meals that will be distributed to children, seniors, and families in Northwest Florida.

Manna expands Tummy Bundles child nutrition program

AIA Florida Northwest’s PensaCan 2021 now accepting build team registrations

Pensacola, FL (August 9, 2021) – Build team registrations are being accepted now for PensaCan 2021 – an event led by the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Florida Northwest to fight hunger in our community. This year’s event will take place September 30 through October 8. Teams are strongly encouraged to register in August, though teams will be accepted through September 10.

Manna receives $15,000 grant from Publix Super Markets Charities

Pensacola, FL – Publix Super Markets Charities awarded a $15,000 grant to Manna Food Bank in support of Manna’s programs and partnerships in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties. The grant has funded the equivalent of 9,000 healthy meals distributed in 2020 and 2021 to children, seniors, and families.

Manna Food Bank to recognize volunteers’ contributions through COVID-19 crisis at luncheon and award ceremony

Manna Food Bank will recognize several volunteers whose contributions carried the food bank through the COVID-19 crisis. Five volunteers will be honored with a President’s Volunteer Service Award, and one retiring volunteer will be presented with the prestigious President’s Lifetime Achievement Award. The President’s Volunteer Service Award was founded by the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation in 2003. The recognition luncheon and award ceremony will feature acknowledgements by Mayor Grover Robinson and Manna Board President Hank Carlstrom, and a presentation by Manna Executive Director DeDe Flounlacker.

One year later, Manna Food Bank highlights impact and changes due to COVID-19

Pack the Pirate Ship will be held Monday, December 21, 2020, from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Allen Turner Hyundai’s previous location, 6000 Pensacola Boulevard (please enter through the Airport Boulevard entrance), and at the Pensacola Blue Wahoos Stadium, 351 West Cedar Street, both in Pensacola.

Cox donates $50,000 to Manna for Hurricane Sally recovery

Pensacola, FL (November 6, 2020) – Cox Communications and Cox Automotive recently came together to support local nonprofits that provide assistance to families in the Gulf Coast recovering from Hurricane Sally. Manna Food Bank was awarded a $50,000 grant through the James M. Cox Foundation that will support local families as they continue to rebuild their lives following the storm. United Way of West Florida also received a $50,000 grant.

Hunger Stops Here fundraiser will benefit Manna and local businesses

Pensacola, FL (October 1, 2020) – Manna Food Bank, Inc. has made changes to the format of their annual fundraiser, and it’s designed to benefit both the nonprofit and local businesses this year. The Hunger Stops Here fundraiser will feature the handcrafted bowls that are typically available at the Clover Pick A Bowl Fill A Bowl event in early September. But this year, supporters can purchase the one-of-a-kind bowls at various locations throughout Northwest Florida where local businesses will have a featured item to complement each bowl sale.

Allen Turner Hyundai employees’ donations surpass the 100,000-meal mark for Manna

Pensacola, FL (January 28, 2020) – Allen Turner and the employees of Allen Turner Hyundai recently presented a check to Manna, as they do annually, bringing their total donations since 2012 to more than $185,000. Local First Responders Going on a “Donut Strike” to Feed Neighbors in Need

Pensacola, FL (June 12, 2019) – The Pensacola Police Department (PPD), Escambia County Sheriff’s Office (ECSO) and Pensacola Fire Department (PFD) are going on strike against their beloved donuts Wednesday, June 26 through Friday, June 28 to support Manna. During the Donut Strike, first responders have vowed not to devour a single donut until 20,000 pounds of food has been donated to fight hunger in the local area, the equivalent of 26,600 meals.

Escambia and Santa Rosa Letter Carriers to Hold 27th Annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive
