Donor Relations Manager

Work Schedule: Full Time
Hours/Week: 40 hours/week

Job Description and Qualifications

Job Summary

The Donor Relations Manager is responsible for planning, implementing, and directing all aspects of food drives and food donations. The individual in this role is also responsible for supporting the Associate Executive Director in all efforts related to food and financial donor cultivation, stewardship, retention, attrition, and recognition.

 

Key Duties: Food Drives

  • Responsible for effectively securing, coordinating, and executing all food drives and food donations
  • Increase donors’ food drive contributions through goal setting
  • Identify and develop new partnerships to increase food donations
  • Develop relationships and strengthen existing partnerships with community leaders and volunteers from various organizations, government agencies, military bases, businesses, faith-based organizations, schools and more
  • Articulate how food donations are used in our community and convey impact
  • Coordinate with Marketing and Events Manager for major food drive events
  • Responsible for data entry of all pounds in
  • Prepare monthly report of all food drive data for the Executive Director, and work with Finance and Data Manager to ensure data accuracy  
  • Manage extensive meeting, food drive and event calendar
  • Send donation acknowledgments to food donors
  • Manage Food Drives/General Inbox

 

Key Duties: Donor Support

  • Manage Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool, including reports for donor attrition and income trends
  • Generate, process, and sign donor acknowledgement letters and gift receipts for cash and in-kind contributions
  • Create, execute, and track donor outreach
  • Coordinate with Associate Executive Director to develop donor recognition events
  • Conduct research on individuals, corporations, and foundations for new funding support, as well as changes/updates to funding focus areas
  • Assist Associate Executive Director with grant and fund requests and reporting as needed
  • Assist Associate Executive Director with grants management tracking system and grants calendar
  • Generate more peer-to-peer fundraising opportunities
  • Increase donor participation and enhance donor cultivation and stewardship
  • Create and assist with solicitation strategies and development of strategic plans for major gifts initiatives
  • Improve the accuracy of all donor information maintained by Manna
  • Conduct presentations and attend community meetings to gain support for Manna

Required Skills

  • Must have excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, as well as excellent presentation skills
  • Able to speak effectively and comfortably in public and present on issues relating to food insecurity and the mission of Manna
  • Able to work and interact well with individuals from a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds in a culturally diverse environment; able to work with a diversified community, to work cooperatively and with flexibility
  • Able to take initiative, coordinate with others, and follow through in a timely fashion
  • Must have the ability to work on multiple projects with minimal supervision and manage one's own time effectively to meet deadlines and successfully execute projects and events
  • Strong computer and web proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Knowledge of CRM software, such as Bloomerang, highly preferred
  • Able to process data with a high level of accuracy
  • Must be a highly energetic, enthusiastic, flexible professional with a strong work ethic; must be highly organized, dependable, creative, self-motivated, results- and detail-oriented, and pro-active
  • Must possess the intellectual depth, maturity, wisdom, and collaborative skills to garner the trust and confidence of donors, volunteers, staff, and other constituents
  • Must have strong analytical thinking, diplomatic problem solving and reasoning skills; includes the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and make recommendations for change and improvement
  • Positive attitude is a must!
  • Comprehensive knowledge of standard office practices, procedures, equipment, and techniques
  • College degree preferred, ideally with at least two years of proven, successful fundraising experience with a nonprofit or sales experience with a for-profit organization

 

Physical & Other Requirements

  • Must have valid Florida driver’s license, a safe driving record, and a dependable automobile
  • Willingness to travel and work outside of the office, including some nights and weekends, as necessary
  • Able to work in inclement weather (heat, cold, rain, etc.) when required (when safe to do so)
  • Position requires high mobility
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; able to work at a computer station for several hours per day
